Beach Time in Cape May 7-7-09

If there is magic in the world, it is found in water and especially at an ocean beach. Bob and I are spending 2 weeks in Cape May enjoying its beautiful beaches every day and visiting with my sister Joan and family.

It’s wonderful watching adults become kids and squeal with delight as they dance with the ocean waves. Kids of all ages leave technology behind and really play-- digging sand holes to China, building castles to the sky and jumping waves.

We build little cities here filled with colorful umbrellas. If there was a time lapse aerial photo of a beach day enfolding, it would look like a flower blooming. There is a hint of danger and the unexpected as a big wave sneaks behind you or a pesky seagull steals a food morsel from the edge of your blanket.

It is no wonder that the ocean beach is the #1 place for vacations all over the world. We find relaxation here, lulled by the soothing sound of waves, lost in a good book and ready to surrender to a nap. It’s a great place to people-watch and celebrate that we come in lots of beautiful sizes. It’s a place to find love.

The magic has worked on us and we are in no hurry.
