What is there about an island that stirs our imaginations, encourages us to dream and even to fall in love? Vashon Island off the coast of Seattle is such a place and the site for the wedding of our nephew, Kyle, to his beautiful bride, Kate. We all gathered to witness this happy day at the Point Robinson Lighthouse which nautical Olsens just had to climb. We were lavishly entertained at a Welcome dinner at the Vashon Island Yacht Club, and following the wedding, a reception at Kate’s parent’s home with a newly constructed party barn. We raised the roof with good cheer, great food, a fabulous band and “We are Family” kinship. With great accommodations overlooking Puget Sound, and side trips to Seattle and Mount Rainer, it truly was a fantastic wedding. Thank you so much, Kate and Kyle; Kate’s parents, Mike and Sarah; and my sister and brother-in-law, Maureen and Kevin.
